Uttermost

“Also there were many priests, because they were prevented by death from continuing. But He, because He continues forever, has an unchangeable priesthood. Therefore He is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them. For such a High Priest was fitting for us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and has become higher than the heavens; who does not need daily, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifices, first for His own sins and then for the people’s, for this He did once for all when He offered up Himself. For the law appoints as high priests men who have weakness, but the word of the oath, which came after the law, appoints the Son who has been perfected forever.”
‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭7:23-28‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Uttermost

Many of us older saints are sustained by medications, as we seek to hold on to whatever health we have. In my case I take medications that are for anti-rejection for I am the blessed recipient of a kidney transplant. If I do not continue to take my medication, I would lose the great miracle the Lord has given me.

I am looking forward to that day, when I will not have to take another pill or have another infusion, for I will trade this old, dilapidated tent for new and glorious one. He will save even my body to the uttermost.

Prior to the coming of Jesus, the children of Israel were required to have a high priest to go into the temple each year on the day of atonement present a sacrifice for the sins of himself and the people.

He came from the aaronic priesthood, according to the flesh. The sacrifice only only covered the sins of the people.
In truth, this sacrifice, this ordinance saved no one, but only bought time until the Lamb that took away arrived at the appointed time.

Jesus brought an unchangeable priesthood, one not hindered by mortality, that continues in consistency even until now. Jesus is right now standing before the Throne of God interceding on our behalf, for the evil, the devil is accusing the brethren.

“Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan also came among them.”
Job 1:6 NKJV

“Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us.”
Romans 8:34 NKJV

Through His ministry, we have eternal reconciliation and an advocate speaking on our behalf. Jesus has the power to truly save us to the uttermost, to preserve us through this life and into that which will be eternal.

Those of us who know the Lord and are born again, can have the confidence to know that we have an audience with the Father, and access to the Holy of Holies because of our Great High Priest.

Because of the this wonderful provision, we are not overwhelmed with constant work to keep our salvation, but we have liberty and no condemnation.

“There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death. For what the law could not do in that it was weak through the flesh, God did by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, on account of sin: He condemned sin in the flesh, that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.”
Romans 8:1-4 NKJV

Brothers and sisters, because of Jesus we have been given a salvation that has no limit, and we have been given the Holy Spirit, that we have new life. Not only have we been saved from the penalty of sin, but we have been delivered from sin itself.

Upon salvation, we get all that we need, for the Lord has baptized us in His Spirit. When we sin, we do so according to our desires, and not due to bondage. Let us choose to live in the righteousness that the Lord has afforded us, making intentional choices daily to walk in that righteousness.

Our world is full of many temptations, and many more are on the way, for the evil one knows that he has but a little while. But we must remember that we have our Great High Priest Jesus interceding on our behalf, answering every charge brought by the devil with the proclamation: “I paid it all!”

The Lord has provided us a way of escape, if we are willing to take it.

“No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.”
‭‭I Corinthians‬ ‭10:13‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Let us be bold and be faithful to go and tell all who will hear of Jesus, the One who saves to the uttermost. As He can save the soul of the sinner, He will save the world, for He will make all things new. All creation will rejoice.

Our great God will save the world to the uttermost, and the nations will rejoice as they bow in worship to the Lord.

“But I saw no temple in it, for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are its temple. The city had no need of the sun or of the moon to shine in it, for the glory of God illuminated it. The Lamb is its light. And the nations of those who are saved shall walk in its light, and the kings of the earth bring their glory and honor into it. Its gates shall not be shut at all by day (there shall be no night there). And they shall bring the glory and the honor of the nations into it. But there shall by no means enter it anything that defiles, or causes an abomination or a lie, but only those who are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life.”
Revelation 21:22-27 NKJV
