Declaration

““I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come. He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you. All things that the Father has are Mine. Therefore I said that He will take of Mine and declare it to you.”
‭‭John‬ ‭16‬:‭12‬-‭15‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Declaration

I love reading the passage in John sixteen this morning, for it reminded me of the importance of having both the Holy Spirit and word of God, working in unison to inform the follower of Jesus of the glories of God. It is a crucial message in these perilous days, for we are seeing mayhem unfolding, because humanity is without a teacher.

The average human is bombarded by a vast amount of stimuli, for we live in a world that is digital, crammed with information made up of ones and zeros, insignificant in themselves, but full of meaning when linked together and built into thoughts and ideas.

The message that is being sent is one that appeals to the most base amongst us, for it is a message designed to draw in the greatest number of people, and be understood by many. The prince and power of the air desires that his message pour into the ears of as many people as possible, for it is his mission to destroy the message of God, the Gospel, by drawing it out.

While the message of devil appeals to the flesh, with promises of health, wealth and prosperity, it delivers only death, poverty, and ceaseless strive to fill and empty soul.

God offers a different message, for in the word of God is life, and peace, and a promise of eternity. It is message brought by the beautiful feet of those who have been removed that message, for each has drawn into faith, and not rejected such a great salvation.

“How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, Who bring glad tidings of good things!””
Romans 10:14-15 NKJV

This message is also carried by the Holy Spirit, the Helper, who goes throughout all the world convicting people of their sins. The message is sent far and wide, and when it is received, in the form of conviction in the commission of sins. God has wired every one with a conscience, sensing the basic ideas of right and wrong.

The conscience pricked, it is exposed to the word of the Gospel brought by the Lord’s messenger, and a divine conception is achieved, when the message of salvation is seeded into a heart burdened by sin. In the new birth that follows, the word of God is given new significance, as the Holy Spirit enters the new believer and begins to declare the things of God.

These are not things that are discerned by the natural mind, but things that can only be correctly received by a Spirit transformed mind. The Lord Jesus sought to prepare His disciples for the work that they would do.

Not only was He informing them of this Helper, but, by way if the Scriptures, which we have it’s complete form and revelation, we too have been informed that the One who dwells in us can help us to understand and apply the knowledge of Christ.

He is our instructor, and our guide in these times. There are some who focus on the emotional attributes of the Holy Spirit, seeking to encapsulate His purpose as merely providing an experience designed to feed our flesh and give us a momentary sense of His presence.

But His purpose is far greater. He is the one who declares to us and to the world, that Jesus saves, that salvation has come into the world.

Brothers and sisters, let us be sensitive to Him who desire declare the truth to our hearts, for the Lord desires that we have access to the vast storehouse of His wisdom, and He gives it freely.

“My son, if you receive my words, And treasure my commands within you, So that you incline your ear to wisdom, And apply your heart to understanding; Yes, if you cry out for discernment, And lift up your voice for understanding, If you seek her as silver, And search for her as for hidden treasures; Then you will understand the fear of the Lord, And find the knowledge of God. For the Lord gives wisdom; From His mouth come knowledge and understanding;”
‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭2‬:‭1‬-‭6‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Let us pore over the Holy Scriptures, submitting to the Lord as our guide, poring over the word with great diligence. In the coming days, weeks and months, the word will loom large, as the liar himself, Satan, is diligently seeding his destruction into our dying world.

We have been called to go into all the world and preach the truth of God. We have given the message of the Gospel, the story of God’s amazing grace, as examples of His future glory cloaked in human flesh.

Lest we forget:

“Moreover, brethren, I declare to you the gospel which I preached to you, which also you received and in which you stand, by which also you are saved, if you hold fast that word which I preached to you—unless you believed in vain. For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures,”
‭‭I Corinthians‬ ‭15‬:‭1‬-‭4‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

  1. I am so incredibly grateful for the Holy Spirit and His power to “tune my heart and sing God’s praise.” Thank you brother for illustrating the Holy Spirit as clearly as humanly possible.

Will you please pray for the Lord to build a teaching manuscript through me, to be taught on July 4? The goal is to teach one John three in a clear and accurate way.

    Thanks so much brother!

“By this we know love, that he laid down his life for us, and we ought to lay down our lives for the brothers. And this is his commandment, that we believe in the name of his Son Jesus Christ and love one another, just as he has commanded us.”

  2. Will you please pray for a friend named Nathan Sanderson, who desperately needs, is approved, and waiting for a liver transplant? He is suffering badly at the hospital right now, with potential seizures. They are draining 24 pounds of fluid off of him almost twice a week. Thanks so much brother!

      1. They have given him meds that have helped the nausea. He is talkative now, color is good. They think they may not have to do the endoscopy but treat it with medicine instead. We are waiting for bloodwork results.

        Thank you Bernie
