“Every word of God is pure; He is a shield to those who put their trust in Him.”
‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭30‬:‭5‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“My son, if you receive my words, And treasure my commands within you, So that you incline your ear to wisdom, And apply your heart to understanding; Yes, if you cry out for discernment, And lift up your voice for understanding, If you seek her as silver, And search for her as for hidden treasures; Then you will understand the fear of the Lord, And find the knowledge of God. For the Lord gives wisdom; From His mouth come knowledge and understanding; He stores up sound wisdom for the upright; He is a shield to those who walk uprightly; He guards the paths of justice, And preserves the way of His saints. Then you will understand righteousness and justice, Equity and every good path. When wisdom enters your heart, And knowledge is pleasant to your soul, Discretion will preserve you; Understanding will keep you, To deliver you from the way of evil, From the man who speaks perverse things, From those who leave the paths of uprightness To walk in the ways of darkness;”
Proverbs 2:1-13 NKJV

I tell you the truth, the Holy Spirit is working! I remember many years ago, an acquaintance came to me after the evening service at a church I attended, and demanded to know if I had informed the pastor of her sin. He had preached from Philippians and the Holy Spirit had convicted her. In her simplicity, she believed that the pastor had to have been informed, though no one knew of her private sins, not even me. She gave herself away.

She should be thankful that the Lord is in her, for if she did not have Him, she would have felt nothing.

For the last three years I have written this devotional. I have no idea who reads it, as I post it on platforms that do not allow me to to track. The only way I know anything, is by a person liking, sharing or commenting.

Oh, but the Holy Spirit is a revealer of the soul, and HIs conviction reveals the sinner, and provides a guard for the saint.

In these perilous days, I have learned to listen to the Lord, to hear His whispers, His cautions. By my obedience, I am able to avoid the pitfalls that are along the path of the walk of faith. Especially those stumbling blocks that walk on two legs.

In my writing I have had numerous situations where stricken sinners have revealed themselves, thinking that I am writing about them. Many of these are narcissistic, self centered people, broadcasting heavy projections onto others.

The irony is, my writing is essentially automatic, for I often don’t know what I have written until I go back and reread.

The Lord governs the process, giving me the power to do this day after day without fail. I tell you the truth: I don’t have discipline to do this on my own.

I have learned to trust the Lord, for He knows the end from the beginning, and is the governor of all creation. Because of the Lord’s leading, I have learned to keep my life small, limiting my contact with people, for the Lord knows the intents of their hearts.

In the coming days, weeks, months and perhaps years, those who call upon the Lord must listen to the whispers of the Lord and be mindful, as the evil one is sowing many tares in among the saints, who are hell bent on causing trouble, for this is their nature.

We are in the last days.

“But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away!”
II Timothy 3:1-5 NKJV

“Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.”
Galatians 5:19-21 NKJV

In the midst of all of this, it is urgent that those who call upon the Lord respond in love, for Jesus died to save sinners. Each of us comes from the cover of great darkness, and each of us has been ushered into the light of Christ, transformed by such a great salvation.

“Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails.
I Corinthians 13:4-8a NKJV

It is in light of this the I do my best to show love, even when under attack. The Lord gives great insight to those He has commissioned to do ministry, and it is for the benefit of those who are weaker in the faith.

Brothers and sisters, let us seek the Lord daily, reading His word, that we have the protection and insight of the God who made us. Let us also seek the Lord to examine us, to show us our sins, that not think too much of ourselves.

“Search me, O God, and know my heart; Try me, and know my anxieties; And see if there is any wicked way in me, And lead me in the way everlasting.”
Psalms 139:23-24 NKJV

“For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account.”
Hebrews 4:12-13 NKJV

The coming seasons will require unity in the body of Christ. Let us ask the Lord to remind us that we are one in the body, that each of us is treasured and loved. It is all hands on deck if we are to complete the mission that the Lord has given us.
