The last hour

“Little children, it is the last hour; and as you have heard that the Antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have come, by which we know that it is the last hour. They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would have continued with us; but they went out that they might be made manifest, that none of them were of us. But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and you know all things. I have not written to you because you do not know the truth, but because you know it, and that no lie is of the truth. Who is a liar but he who denies that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist who denies the Father and the Son. Whoever denies the Son does not have the Father either; he who acknowledges the Son has the Father also.”
‭‭I John‬ ‭2‬:‭18‬-‭23‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

The last hour

We are awash in antichrists. There are many who are trying to define who Jesus is by fleshly standards. There are those who seek to paint Jesus as a nationalist, supporting the political and social values that they hold. Others seek to say that He is a socialist, preaching a communal identity where there is an equal distribution of wealth and equity, practicing liberation theology.

There are still others who seek to define Jesus as this warm and fuzzy, cosmic genie who gives all that we desire and does not hold us accountable for our sin.

In these last days, I have recoiled in horror as I have watched many who previously believed the God of the bible, run after other gods and false Jesuses, seeking affirmation for their earthbound beliefs. They do not preach the Gospel, but preach only themselves.

Lest we forget:

“Moreover, brethren, I declare to you the gospel which I preached to you, which also you received and in which you stand, by which also you are saved, if you hold fast that word which I preached to you—unless you believed in vain. For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures,”
I Corinthians 15:1-4 NKJV

Some of these are antichrists unto themselves, walking among us, extolling their own views of what is “godly”, and what it means to be a faithful follower of Jesus. They seek to establish their own kingdoms, drawing followers after themselves.

Fortunately, those like them are found out, and they flee the boy of believers. They take as many with them as possible.

As born again followers of Jesus, we have received the Helper, the Holy Spirit to assist us in distinguishing between those who say they are of God, and those who are not. We recognize the various antichrists, for they do not reflect the Lord, but reflect the a fleshliness.

Those who have the Spirit of God, reflect the word of God, for their actions and behaviors are righteous when compared to the descriptors found in the Bible.

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.”
Galatians 5:22-25 NKJV

Brothers and sisters, it is crucial for us to walk in the Spirit in these last days, for wee are witnessing the dividing line between the Harlot system, which is winding down and the coming Antichrist kingdom.

The major players are being defined as we look on in amazement. It is crucial for us, those born again, to be aware of who Jesus is and to be able to discern the difference between what we are seeing and what is in reality. Let us examine ourselves, that we know that we are in the faith.

Let us be wary of anyone who professes Christ, yet denies the Father. Let us also be wary of anyone who says that Jesus is not the Christ. The one who denies the Father or the Son, or the one who seeks to add any other means of salvation beyond faith in the Father and the Son is antichrist.

“And Jesus answered and said to them: “Take heed that no one deceives you. For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many. And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of sorrows.”
Matthew 24:4-8 NKJV

I once read that Patriarch Kirill, head of the Russian Orthodox Church, has told his followers that “sacrifice in the course of carrying out your military duty washes away all sins.” Could it be that he is a forerunner of the false prophet, or perhaps he himself, causing the people of Russia to worship their modern day Tsar. Interesting. It is definitely a time for holy discernment.

We are in a time when we must cling to what we know. We know that Jesus, God in the flesh, came and died for our sins. We know that salvation is only found in Him, and we know that we are saved by grace, and not of works.

There will be much confusion in the coming days, weeks, months and perhaps years, and we must be about the Father’s business, going and telling of this great salvation in Jesus.

Let us be wary of the many antichrists, and let us refer to the word of God, relying upon the Holy Spirit to guide us. There will be suffering for those who insist on following the Jesus of the bible, for the pressures to conform to one antichrist or the other will be intense, but the Lord has given us a promise that He will be with us.

““And to the angel of the church in Smyrna write, ‘These things says the First and the Last, who was dead, and came to life: “I know your works, tribulation, and poverty (but you are rich); and I know the blasphemy of those who say they are Jews and are not, but are a synagogue of Satan. Do not fear any of those things which you are about to suffer. Indeed, the devil is about to throw some of you into prison, that you may be tested, and you will have tribulation ten days. Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life.”
Revelation 2:8-10 NKJV

  1. It is definitely a time for holy discernment, Bernie! Thank you for the encouragement!! Would you please pray that Lori and I would continue to remain solid, and even grow in our spiritual discernment. May we have eyes to see and ears to hear?
