Coming soon to a desolate planet near you

““Listen, O coastlands, to Me, And take heed, you peoples from afar! The Lord has called Me from the womb; From the matrix of My mother He has made mention of My name. And He has made My mouth like a sharp sword; In the shadow of His hand He has hidden Me, And made Me a polished shaft; In His quiver He has hidden Me.” “And He said to me, ‘You are My servant, O Israel, In whom I will be glorified.’”
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭49:1-3‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Coming soon to a desolate planet near you

I had a lively day yesterday, as the Lord revealed many things through His word, and through His guidance as I sought information. The world we live in is in preparation for the what we call the end times, which have likely already commenced. I learned anew the dangers of nationalism, and how the coming Antichrist will likely be a nationalist, not unlike Hitler, or any other right wing autocrat that has come before or after.

He will be a populist, promising to restore the old ways, and many will run to him, especially after he has dealt with the abominations of the Harlot. He will promise to make the earth great again.

This morning I was reminded that the Lord Jesus was established from the foundation of the Earth to accomplish what only God could do. We have many Scriptures that affirm His deity and His place in the Godhead. As I ponder all that I studied the day before, I was delighted to b e reminded that there is one coming who will restore all things.

“Then I said, ‘I have labored in vain, I have spent my strength for nothing and in vain; Yet surely my just reward is with the Lord, And my work with my God.’ ””
Isaiah 49:4 NKJV

We who call upon the name of the Lord, have been working, pressing on to share the Gospel. At times, it has seemed that we have worked in vain, as our world seems bent on destruction. We rejoice in each souls saved, but often we feel as if we have not done enough. But we must remember that the Lord is the author and finisher of our faith, and He will complete the mission the Father commissioned Him to do.

““And now the Lord says, Who formed Me from the womb to be His Servant, To bring Jacob back to Him, So that Israel is gathered to Him (For I shall be glorious in the eyes of the Lord, And My God shall be My strength), Indeed He says, ‘It is too small a thing that You should be My Servant To raise up the tribes of Jacob, And to restore the preserved ones of Israel; I will also give You as a light to the Gentiles, That You should be My salvation to the ends of the earth.’ ””
Isaiah 49:5-6 NKJV

Jesus came to save to the outermost, to restore the remnant of Israel, and be a light to the gentiles. He will restore this desolate planet to the glory that was intended before the sin of Adam brought corruption.

Though bleak now, I know that there is coming a time when Jesus will reign, when there will be no more despots, no more antichrists to trouble humanity. We live in a world in restoration.

Brothers and sisters, the times are getting bleaker and the future hold little promise. Though the spread of the pain is graduated, it will be felt everywhere. Let us keep our minds set on Jesus, poring over the word of God, remaining constant in prayer, and let us turn aside from earthbound rulers who make promises they cannot possibly keep.

The great temptation is to run after those leaders, hoping for some kind of cultural fix. We hope that the laws and bans will be what is needed to establish a world that we desire.

The devil is a deceiver, and he will provide many a leader that we think to one true, but are liars whose god is not Jesus. It is a time to focus on the One that the Father has commissioned, and who has in turn, commissioned us.

“And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.”
Matthew 28:18-20 NKJV

The Lord is coming again, and I believe very, very soon. Between now and what is to come, the path will be treacherous, but my people, we must walk with confidence, knowing that the Lord will carry us through.

Let us not forget the craftiness of the devil for he has many snares, and someone might escape one and fall into the other. The only safe thing is to focus on the Lord. Seek Him in the purest way possible.

“And when I saw Him, I fell at His feet as dead. But He laid His right hand on me, saying to me, “Do not be afraid; I am the First and the Last. I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore. Amen. And I have the keys of Hades and of Death.”
Revelation 1:17-18 NKJV

In the troubling times to come, may we be reminded daily that we worship the One who holds the keys of Hades and Death. In His service, He holds us in His hands. There is no downside, only the hope of eternity with Jesus.

“Now I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away. Also there was no more sea. Then I, John, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.” Then He who sat on the throne said, “Behold, I make all things new.” And He said to me, “Write, for these words are true and faithful.””
Revelation 21:1-5 NKJV

Let us keep our minds and hearts set upon this ultimate truth!
