Fading beauty

““Come down and sit in the dust, O virgin daughter of Babylon; Sit on the ground without a throne, O daughter of the Chaldeans! For you shall no more be called Tender and delicate.”
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭47:1‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“And you said, ‘I shall be a lady forever,’ So that you did not take these things to heart, Nor remember the latter end of them. “Therefore hear this now, you who are given to pleasures, Who dwell securely, Who say in your heart, ‘I am, and there is no one else besides me; I shall not sit as a widow, Nor shall I know the loss of children’; But these two things shall come to you In a moment, in one day: The loss of children, and widowhood. They shall come upon you in their fullness Because of the multitude of your sorceries, For the great abundance of your enchantments. “For you have trusted in your wickedness; You have said, ‘No one sees me’; Your wisdom and your knowledge have warped you; And you have said in your heart, ‘I am, and there is no one else besides me.’ Therefore evil shall come upon you; You shall not know from where it arises. And trouble shall fall upon you; You will not be able to put it off. And desolation shall come upon you suddenly, Which you shall not know.”
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭47:7-11‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Fading beauty

I like the natural beauty of seasoned women. In their faces, I can see the passing of the years, the joys, the sadnesses, the experiences that have led them through their lives. One of the saddest things I have seen, is the woman who vainly seeks to hold onto the beauty of her youth, opting for surgeries, for weighty makeup applied like spackling, covering all the dents and flaws that come with life lived.

We are seeing the fading of a beauty, the Harlot, the woman of old, birthed in Babel, and guilty of all manner of sins. She has no idea that her time is coming. She is setting about beautifying herself, in the hope of finally winning her unrequited lover, the beast, Satan. She has perverted all of humanity with her desire for the erotic, for abominations and has caused vast destruction in her thirst for globalism.

She is readying herself for her greatest gift to Satan to date.

““And to the angel of the church in Smyrna write, ‘These things says the First and the Last, who was dead, and came to life: “I know your works, tribulation, and poverty (but you are rich); and I know the blasphemy of those who say they are Jews and are not, but are a synagogue of Satan. Do not fear any of those things which you are about to suffer. Indeed, the devil is about to throw some of you into prison, that you may be tested, and you will have tribulation ten days. Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life.”
Revelation 2:8-10 NKJV

As one final gift to woo her lover to be, she will give him the gift of the blood of the saints, as many will be slaughtered, as the world seeks to end the bothersome meddling of those who call upon the name of the Lord.

“So he carried me away in the Spirit into the wilderness. And I saw a woman sitting on a scarlet beast which was full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns. The woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet, and adorned with gold and precious stones and pearls, having in her hand a golden cup full of abominations and the filthiness of her fornication. And on her forehead a name was written: MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND OF THE ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH. I saw the woman, drunk with the blood of the saints and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus. And when I saw her, I marveled with great amazement.”
Revelation 17:3-6 NKJV

She rides the beast, but she is not welcome. He hates her, and unbeknownst to her he is hatching his own plan that will not include her. But yet she presses on. She is known by many names, European Union, Nato, World Economic Forum, and can be found in many place such as Europe, parts of Asia, and even the United States. Her appearance is marked by rainbow colors and pride parades and slogans like build back better.

Her days are numbered.

Reading Isaiah forty seven this morning reminded me that there is coming true justice. I was also reminded that the Lord often brings that justice by way of evil people. One day soon the beast will draft his own king, the Antichrist. The Antichrist will destroy the Harlot in one hour. Gone will be all the powers of the earth, in one day and in one hour.

“The merchants of these things, who became rich by her, will stand at a distance for fear of her torment, weeping and wailing, and saying, ‘Alas, alas, that great city that was clothed in fine linen, purple, and scarlet, and adorned with gold and precious stones and pearls! For in one hour such great riches came to nothing.’ Every shipmaster, all who travel by ship, sailors, and as many as trade on the sea, stood at a distance and cried out when they saw the smoke of her burning, saying, ‘What is like this great city?’”
Revelation 18:15-18 NKJV

Heaven will rejoice.

Brothers and sisters, she is coming for us. It is not a time to be fearful, but faithful for the Lord has saved us for such a time as this. We are in a battle for souls of the lost, as the Harlot his trotting out her best finery, her strongest perfumes, but the sin that is so grievous, what should be sweet smells as the odor of decomposition.

But we have different fragrance, one from the Lord as we go and tell of the grace of God, sweet and alluring to those who will be saved, and wretched those who are perishing.

“Now thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and through us diffuses the fragrance of His knowledge in every place. For we are to God the fragrance of Christ among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing. To the one we are the aroma of death leading to death, and to the other the aroma of life leading to life. And who is sufficient for these things? For we are not, as so many, peddling the word of God; but as of sincerity, but as from God, we speak in the sight of God in Christ.”
II Corinthians 2:14-17 NKJV

Let us be those that portray the enduring beauty of Jesus, the One who will never fade. The One who will one day cast the Antichrist and and the False Prophet into hell. And will add to it the Satan and the enemy death.

Much is going to happen in the coming days, weeks and months, and we must be about the Father’s business. Let us lean on Him, abiding in His word, constant in prayer, and steadfast on loving and edifying the saints.

Let us fulfill our calling with great boldness, that we be able to lead as many to eternity in Christ as possible.

May our lives show the beauty that never fades, but becomes deeper over time.

  1. Amen and amen Bernie!

“For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work. Only he who now restrains it will do so until he is out of the way. And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus will kill with the breath of his mouth and bring to nothing by the appearance of his coming.”
    ‭‭2 Thessalonians‬ ‭2:7-8‬ ‭
