“I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.”
‭‭Galatians‬ ‭5:16-21‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

the process of gradual or unconscious assimilation of ideas, knowledge, etc.”what she knows of the blue-blood set she learned not through birthright, not even through wealth, but through osmosis”

There is great danger lurking. It is hidden in plain sight, made colorful, like the brilliance of a rainbow, attracting the unwise to its poison. Many people, especially the young, think nothing of getting as close as possible to it, even rubbing up against the danger, as it assimilates itself into our very systems.

The danger is the sin of the world, and it is creeping into the lives of ones who profess to have called upon the name of the Lord. As a result, we are facing a crisis in the American church, as many are professed followers of Jesus, but very, very few are truly born again. the Bible does not make allowance for being near the faith, but demands that we be born again.

“Jesus answered and said to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.””
John 3:3 NKJV

The presence of the Holy Spirit is the sign of the born again, as there has been a change in one who has been saved. They no longer desire the things of the world, and no longer revel in its sinful values. One desires the word of God with passion.

Those who walk in the flesh, yet profess Jesus, still resemble the world and all of its values. They are more concerned with fitting in. As I read through the passage in Galatians five, I could see so many of the things that seem to consume many of those I have spent my spiritual life with. They did not take on these things overnight, but many have acquired them, as if by osmosis, having gotten so close to the world.

Thankfully, for many, this is momentary, or backsliding, as they have put aside the things of God in favor of fleshly things, and the behaviors seen are the result of the void that remains. There is potential for revival.

In these perilous times, there is a call for us to reflect Jesus and not the world. Whose we are has determined for us how we will be received, for the mark of God on the Christian is distinguishable by those whose father is the devil.

Regardless of your resemblance to those of this dying world, you will be attacked. If you have filled up on the useless wisdom of this world, and eschewed that of God, you will have no resources to stand.

Brothers and sisters, the things we are seeing around us are not clouds, soon to be blown away, but signs of a coming cataclysm. If you have paid attention, you know that all that we know and rely on, has become fluid and ever changing, and what we view as normal is long passed.

We need to begin separating ourselves from this dying world, declaring that we are the people of God. It is truly a question of inheriting the Kingdom of God. We have made the assumption that mere professing was all that was needed to get into heaven, but we have forgotten that the Lord is examine our hearts, and knows all that is in us and what motivates us.

It is time to repent of our worldliness, to turn to the word of God, to turn from walking the flesh, displaying all of the symptoms, toe walking in the Spirit, and showing that in how we live.

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another.”
Galatians 5:22-26 NKJV

May the fruit of the Spirit abound in us, showing in the good moments, but showing all the more when we are under persecution. It is under the most dire of circumstances that the fruit of the Spirit demonstrates whose we are.

There is coming a day of reckoning, when there will be no question as to who are truly of Christ, for there is coming the taking away, when those children who call upon the Lord will be caught up to the Father’s throne.

“She bore a male Child who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron. And her Child was caught up to God and His throne.”
Revelation 12:5 NKJV

We have entered the last moments. If you wanted get a little excited, google September 23, 2017! Lots of fun in the images. The Lord has given us a sign, as Revelation twelve, verses one and two has already actually happened.

One need only consider the years since then to know that something has changed. We don’t have long.

Rejoice my people!

  1. Yes, worldliness is definitely creeping into the church. Will you please pray for me to have self-control Bernie, as I am still trying to flee and kill the covetousness of cars?
