“And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever. Little children, it is the last hour; and as you have heard that the Antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have come, by which we know that it is the last hour. They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would have continued with us; but they went out that they might be made manifest, that none of them were of us. But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and you know all things. I have not written to you because you do not know the truth, but because you know it, and that no lie is of the truth. Who is a liar but he who denies that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist who denies the Father and the Son. Whoever denies the Son does not have the Father either; he who acknowledges the Son has the Father also.”
‭‭I John‬ ‭2:17-23‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Many of us are enthralled with the person of the Antichrist, this figure that will dominate the world stage just before the return of Lord Jesus. We look for encroaching signs of his coming, such as mandates, vaccines, global surveillance and many other things that dominate our thoughts, distracting us from the mission for which we have been called.

In biblical reality, few of us will encounter the man of lawlessness, as some of us will have been raptured, and others killed and imprisoned by the harlot system in which we now live, which will reach its zenith when it is called the New World Order.

All of this is before the Antichrist takes the stage. In the here and now, we are faced with the reality that the Antichrist is not one man, but many in an ongoing line going back to the garden and Eve’s interaction with the serpent.

As I read the passage in I John, chapter two, I felt like it had been written just days ago, as we are seeing many antichrists, many teaching and preaching under the guise of biblical sound pastorates.

For decades the antichrists operated in the quiet, offering little morsels of poison, laced into sermons, that leached into the hearts of congregants. Subtle false teachings, soft to the touch, so small as to not alert the hearer.

But now, they are bold. Recently and a notorious false teacher, I will not name, posted a tweet stating that salvation does not change one, but only reveals who they really are. This is contrary to the word of God.

Before Jesus we are sinners. Period. In Christ we are transformed, made new.

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.”
II Corinthians 5:17 NKJV

I for one am thrilled that I am new creation in Christ. If only my true nature was revealed, I would be a most hideous person, a danger to society, and not someone anyone would desire to know. I was the epitome of filth, of wretchedness, a lowlife by all measures.

“Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God.”
I Corinthians 6:9-10 NKJV

But Jesus.

“And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God.”
I Corinthians 6:11 NKJV

We are living in a time when the name of Jesus brings much offense. You can talk about God all the day long, but name the name of Jesus and the world loses its mind.

There is something about that name.

In the coming weeks, months, and maybe years, there will be many coming in His name, but be assured that they are antichrist. Seek the Lord in these days. We who are born again, have been given the Holy Spirit and the word of God. These are the essentials of he faith. Traditions are worthless because they reflect humanity ‘s attempt to reconcile and rationalize human appetites with the demands of a holy God.

Brothers and sisters, focus on the essentials as we pray, seek the Lord in the Scriptures and go and tell the simple story of Jesus who came to earth, lived a sinless life, died on the cross a brutal death for the sins of the world, and rose again.

We are in the last hour. Everything, secular and sacred is pointing to that fact. Let us cling to Jesus and be wary of antichrists, who bring nothing but damnation.

Jesus, Jesus, Jesus; there’s just something about that name.
Master, Savior, Jesus, like the fragrance after the rain;
Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, let all Heaven earth proclaim
Kings and kingdoms will all pass away,
But there’s about that name.
Kings and kingdoms will all pass away,
But there’s something about that name.
-Bill Gaither
