“See that you do not refuse Him who speaks. For if they did not escape who refused Him who spoke on earth, much more shall we not escape if we turn away from Him who speaks from heaven, whose voice then shook the earth; but now He has promised, saying, “Yet once more I shake not only the earth, but also heaven.” Now this, “Yet once more,” indicates the removal of those things that are being shaken, as of things that are made, that the things which cannot be shaken may remain. Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us have grace, by which we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear. For our God is a consuming fire.”
Hebrews 12:25-29 NKJV
All shook up
The children of Israel had the presence of God with them and did not heed what He had to say to them. They fell to the sin of unbelief and ultimately fell in the wilderness as they were not allowed to enter His rest. In their refusal, they did not escape, even though the Lord was present.
Later still the children of Israel, years after being sent into captivity, once gain had the very embodiment of God in Jesus Christ with them, yet still they refused, opting to go after other gods, gods of politics and tradition.
Once again, they were shaken, as many died at the destruction of Jerusalem in 70 A.D. and, and the world wide dispersal of the chosen of God.
Those of us of the New Testament age have God in our midst, literally, as the born again follower of Christ, has the Holy Spirit residing in us offers guidance. Sadly, with such divine proximity, many in the household of faith refuse to acknowledge the will of God. Like those who have gone on before us, we are in danger as God is once again shaking our world.
This time the shaking is coming from on high, and from within. There appears to be a terminal velocity to all that is going on, as we see so many signs of the times, signaling that time is short and Jesus is coming again soon.
As God Has shaken the planet, humanity has doubled down on its politics and man made, natural solutions, to deal with the struggles, which have supernatural origin. And we are failing.
“But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away!”
II Timothy 3:1-5 NKJV
Brothers and sisters, we have an unshakable kingdom, a destiny and a reality that will withstand even when the everything else will crumble. Let s go out and share the message of the Gospel. The Lord is shaking things up more and more, and now is not the time to ignore all that is happening around us.
Let us go out and serve God with appropriate awe and fear, endeavoring to follow Him and representing Him as His ambassadors. The world needs to hear the Good News, and experience the transforming power of the Holy Spirit.
May the service of the Lord be our main passion in these troubling times. Societal change comes one soul at a time. The more people come to Jesus, the more people will desire God’s values.
Remain steadfast in the times, maintaining your focus on Jesus, for dark times are coming and straying eyes will lead to straying from the path of faith.
Things are shaking, my brothers and sisters!
“And Jesus answered and said to them: “Take heed that no one deceives you. For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many. And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of sorrows. “Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My name’s sake. And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another. Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many. And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold. But he who endures to the end shall be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.”
Matthew 24:4-14 NKJV
It is time to hear the voice of the Lord and yield to His will. Refusing to hear and obey God can have eternal consequences for we who believe, and for those we fail to reach. Eternity is on the line.
