““Behold, the days are coming,” says the Lord, “That I will raise to David a Branch of righteousness; A King shall reign and prosper, And execute judgment and righteousness in the earth. In His days Judah will be saved, And Israel will dwell safely; Now this is His name by which He will be called: THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS.”
‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭23:5-6‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Jehovah Tsidkenu

Oh what a difference a month makes. A month ago I awoke with the mistaken impression that it was 9/11 and set about writing my contribution to the twenty year anniversary of the tragic events on that bright Tuesday morning so long ago. I recounted all that I had experienced that day, and what effect it had on me. I’ll put a link below if you want to read it.

Since then the world has become an entirely different place, as a seismic shift has occurred in anticipation of things to come.

There are mornings when I feel like I am sitting in my chair watching a giant jigsaw puzzle assemble itself, as all the pieces flow into place. When Afghanistan was taken over by the Taliban, and I found that China and Pakistan had been supporting them, it was like many of the key ingredients for God’s end times recipe were dumped in that vast bowl called eschatology.

It is all coming together.

As I sit here on September 11, reflecting on all that has happened, I can’t help but marvel at the sovereignty of God. He is orchestrating everything, one piece at a time. I am at once frightened and exhilarated, as I begin to consider all that is to come. I am also filled with great sadness, as I know that the events twenty years ago will pale in comparison to the destruction to come.

But those who call upon the name of the Lord need not fear.

Right on cue, the Lord reminded me of His sovereignty, and His foresight, when I read Jeremiah 23, of the coming King, who will reign in righteousness, bringing justice to the world.

In due time Jesus will come again, and He will set all things right. There will be true restoration of all things, and He will come and reign.

““When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the holy angels with Him, then He will sit on the throne of His glory.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭25:31‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“Now I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse. And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war. His eyes were like a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns. He had a name written that no one knew except Himself. He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God. And the armies in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, followed Him on white horses. Now out of His mouth goes a sharp sword, that with it He should strike the nations. And He Himself will rule them with a rod of iron. He Himself treads the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. And He has on His robe and on His thigh a name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.”
‭‭Revelation‬ ‭19:11-16‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Brothers and sisters, there are perilous times ahead, as such the world has ever known. At some point soon, the Harlot, the world system in which we live, will declare all out war on Christians. The framework is being set even as I write, as those who follow Christ are increasingly marginalized by issues like abortion, vaccines, and religious liberty.

She will make war on us, seeking to destroy all who believe. My people, do not fret about taking the mark of the beast, but be more concerned with the Harlot, for she is the one that will kill us. She is written of extensively in the book of Revelation, for good reason.

“And on her forehead a name was written: MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND OF THE ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH. I saw the woman, drunk with the blood of the saints and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus. And when I saw her, I marveled with great amazement.”
‭‭Revelation‬ ‭17:5-6‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Look forward, my people, to the coming of the Lord. We have the blessing of knowing the rest of the story, of the glorious ending. We know that we have the Lord. Take comfort in the rest we have in Jesus.

Those who do not know the Lord are deeply troubled in these times, as they have no hope. We know that we have God as our shield, as He is our eternal protection.

“O God, behold our shield, And look upon the face of Your anointed. For a day in Your courts is better than a thousand. I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God Than dwell in the tents of wickedness. For the Lord God is a sun and shield; The Lord will give grace and glory; No good thing will He withhold From those who walk uprightly. O Lord of hosts, Blessed is the man who trusts in You!”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭84:9-12‬ ‭NKJV

Let us live righteously in these perilous times, and be faithful to go and share the Gospel. I suspect that the coming times will provide a multitude of opportunities for us to share the Good News, as there will be one last great revival before the Lord comes.

Pray for the believers in Afghanistan, and all the others in the persecuted church around the world. Pray especially for believers in Nigeria, as there is silent genocide happening right now.

Some in Afghanistan have been able to escape, but many have chosen to stay, to do the work, even if it results in their martyrdom. Pray for their courage, for their provision, and boldness.

“Now I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away. Also there was no more sea. Then I, John, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.””
‭‭Revelation‬ ‭21:1-4‬ ‭NKJV‬

Know this Christian, the cross of Christ will stand when everything else has fallen. Jesus is coming to rule and to reign, and He will bring justice. Jehovah Tsidkenu will bring righteousness to this fallen world.‬‬‬
