“But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.”
Ephesians 2:4-10 NKJV
Yet another opportunity to drink in God’s goodness. When trials come into my life, I have another opportunity to live out the faith that I urge others on to. As I sit in my room, I can look out from my bed and see the city scape below. Though today is Sunday. I know that empty parking garages will be full of activity come Monday.
I am surrounded by many eternal battles this morning, as the hospital is almost full.
Reading Ephesians chapter two was just refreshing reminder I needed, as I was once again reminded of what Jesus has done for
me. What I am facing now, is nothing compared to the glory to come.
“For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. For the earnest expectation of the creation eagerly waits for the revealing of the sons of God. For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of Him who subjected it in hope; because the creation itself also will be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God. For we know that the whole creation groans and labors with birth pangs together until now.”
Romans 8:18-22 NKJV
Just like my body this morning, and all the bodies of those sick in hospital with me, all creation groans. Every human being unknown by the Father is in dire pain.
Many of those people who will milling about Monday will be groaning. But I know that my trial are just moments of refinement.
Brothers and sisters rejoice that this time is the worse part of this life is all the hell you will endure and rejoice in you salvation and the great gift we have received from Jesus.
“Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning. Of His own will He brought us forth by the word of truth, that we might be a kind of firstfruits of His creatures.”
James 1:17-18 NKJV
