“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love, having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will, to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved.”
Ephesians 1:3-6 NKJV
We are seeing that the world is actively rejecting those who call upon the name of Jesus. Even in the greater body of Christ, there is an increasing breech between those who seek to teach the Holy Scriptures, and those bent on providing unsound doctrine, that is easy to take, because it appeals to the faith.
What matters is that we are accepted in the beloved. It is not something granted to us because we were special, or prayer big prayers, but the grace of a glorious God.
We must seek the identity we have in Christ, because we will have no reputation in the times to come.
“But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.”
John 1:12-13 NKJV
That is a truth that believers in this present time must hang onto.
There will be rejection on all fronts, and it will be easy to become defensive, damaging our witness, with angry reactions from the flesh and not the Spirit.
““I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned. If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples.”
John 15:5-8 NKJV
Brothers and sisters, let us abide in the Lord, seeking after Jesus, as our source of power. He has given us the Helper, God in us, to give us guidance through the Scriptures.
In the dark times, let us remember His good deeds, and meditate on His word. Remember how faithful God was, and is, and will be.
“Therefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all the saints, do not cease to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers: that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints,”
Ephesians 1:15-18 NKJV
