“So Mordecai went out from the presence of the king in royal apparel of blue and white, with a great crown of gold and a garment of fine linen and purple; and the city of Shushan rejoiced and was glad. And in every province and city, wherever the king’s command and decree came, the Jews had joy and gladness, a feast and a holiday. Then many of the people of the land became Jews, because fear of the Jews fell upon them.”
Esther 8:15, 17 NKJV
“Then fear came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were done through the apostles. Now all who believed were together, and had all things in common, and sold their possessions and goods, and divided them among all, as anyone had need. So continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart, praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily tho”

For such a time as this
As I have written time and time again, the people of God are being watched. God has made His people a spectacle, an example for the world to see and marvel. As I read through Esther, I saw how God had ordained the marriage of a Hebrew woman to the King of Persia, for the purpose of saving His people. She as placed in that position for such a time as that.
“For if you remain completely silent at this time, relief and deliverance will arise for the Jews from another place, but you and your father’s house will perish. Yet who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this?””
Esther 4:14 NKJV
As I read, I could see correlations between the Jews and the early church. Each was under extreme pressure, facing a foe or foes that desired their destruction. In the moment of danger, there was deliverance, and in that deliverance, there was great witness. As fear fell on those who saw how God had saved His people, great fear fell on those who saw and many of them became Jews.
As the early disciples ministered to each other and shared the message of Jesus, those in the public saw the miracles of the Apostles, the transformation of the lives of people they knew, and the fear of this powerful God fell on them as well. As a result the church grew.
Both Mordecai and Esther were positioned by God for His glorious work. In truth, God have accomplished whatever He desired without using hem, but He chose to. Likewise, God can save people and spread the Gospel without us, He has more than we know. Built He has chosen to gives us access to Him through Jesus, that we be saved and empowered to go forth.
Brothers and sisters, we have been saved for such a time as this. I have a often wished that I had been alive and in Christ at the beginning, when everything was new, life was unpredictable, and the powers of God was on full display. I have a feeling that we who are alive now, will be in the greater place, as we may be the ones who witness the events leading up to the return of the Lord Jesus.
We are here to share the Gospel, to reach those who remain, that it can truly be said that we have tried to reach all people. The world senses that something is coming, that there is a climax to it all. Because of Jesus, we know and we welcome Him!
“For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age, looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ,”
Titus 2:11-13 NKJV
Let your efforts to serve the Lord be with an urgency, being willing to lay everything on the line. Let there be no reserve, no holding back. You have been chosen for such a time as this.
God is going to make His people a spectacle once again, as His saints take the saving message of the Gospel into tribulation, and countless people will be saved. In the midst of those times, there will be things happening that mirror those of the early church, as it will be the last chance to hear before Jesus comes to judge the world.
Let us be prepared and committed to be over-comers!
“And He said to me, “It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. I will give of the fountain of the water of life freely to him who thirsts. He who overcomes shall inherit all things, and I will be his God and he shall be My son.”
Revelation 21:6-7 NKJV
