House

“Moreover I will appoint a place for My people Israel, and will plant them, that they may dwell in a place of their own and move no more; nor shall the sons of wickedness oppress them anymore, as previously, since the time that I commanded judges to be over My people Israel. Also I will subdue all your enemies. Furthermore I tell you that the Lord will build you a house. And it shall be, when your days are fulfilled, when you must go to be with your fathers, that I will set up your seed after you, who will be of your sons; and I will establish his kingdom. He shall build Me a house, and I will establish his throne forever.”
‭‭I Chronicles‬ ‭17:9-12‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

““Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also. And where I go you know, and the way you know.””
‭‭John‬ ‭14:1-4‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

House

One of the things that people covet most is the owning of a home. Having a house that one can call their own. That desire has persisted throughout the ages.

David desired to build a house for the God He loved. It was his desire that the One who had blessed him, should have a great place to dwell, just as David had a palace of cedar.

God is the great builder of houses, but does not dwell in shelters made by human hands. In His grace He told David that He would build David’s house, His spiritual legacy, that would endure forever.

Though I have a house, and love it, I am more moved by the fact that I have a true forever home being built up for me by Jesus. I have no Idea what that house will be like, but I know that it will be amazing.

By faith, I proceed through this life as a servant of the most high God. I serve and lean on Him for my provision. I know that having a home is a blessing, that I do not take for granted.

There are many in this world who are homeless. Amen are Christians having been rendered so by persecution. Those who are in the faith, live each day by keeping an eye on the Lord, and believing that something better is coming.

I think of the saints who have gone before us, those who have believed, but have not yet received the promise. I think of Abraham, having been told by God to leave his home for the unknown.

“By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to the place which he would receive as an inheritance. And he went out, not knowing where he was going. By faith he dwelt in the land of promise as in a foreign country, dwelling in tents with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise; for he waited for the city which has foundations, whose builder and maker is God.”
‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭11:8-10‬ ‭NKJV

Abraham had no idea how the promise made to him would someday be magnified in eternity, yet alone how many of every tribe, tongue and nation would be blessed through him.

“blessing I will bless you, and multiplying I will multiply your descendants as the stars of the heaven and as the sand which is on the seashore; and your descendants shall possess the gate of their enemies. In your seed all the nations of the earth shall be blessed, because you have obeyed My voice.””
‭‭Genesis‬ ‭22:17-18‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Just as many have been blessed through Abraham, many more can be blessed through the life of a believer In dwelt by God, the Holy Spirit.

He is working in us to prepare us to go and tell of all that He has done in us. We tell of our great salvation purchased by Jesus on the cross.

We are surrounded by souls, headed toward the tenement of hell. In these troubling times, let us go and tell of the great work Jesus has done. Let us tell of the home we have in Heaven, as we look forward to eternity with Jesus.

“Then I, John, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God.”
‭‭Revelation‬ ‭21:2-3‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
