“For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.”
Ephesians 6:12 NKJV
“Therefore I endure all things for the sake of the elect, that they also may obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.”
II Timothy 2:10 NKJV
It is the nature of man to seek vengeance when one is wronged. It is easy to go out and get even, to render evil for evil. We are living in such a time as there are many wrongs being committed, and the flesh demands that there be justice. In the economy of God, everything is upside down. We are to meet evil with good.
I would have to admit that this has been very difficult for me, as I have very often been one sought out for victimization because I am different from most people. In my previous life, I was one to strike back, seek to hurt the hurters, to return greater evil for evil. As the Lord has transformed me, I have learned the importance of grace.
I have learned that the evil one uses people of flesh and blood to oppress believers, to wound. Often these are people who themselves have been wounded. It is said that hurt people, hurt people. This is true. As the Lord has transformed my heart to be like His, I am cognizant of the reality that the evil one heaves missiles of flesh and blood in the hope that we strike back and destroy. In that destruction, the message of the Gospel is lost and we have failed to portray the heart of God.
I choose to take the hit, the charge, the slander, and every slight that comes my way. I keep silent, and give it to the Lord. I want nothing to stand in the way of a sinner being saved, of a backslider being revived.
Soon, very soon, there is coming a time when standing for the truth of the Gospel will likely get you killed here in the streets of America. That has been the case for the body of Christ in many countries, and that reality will soon be coming here. There will be martys for the cause of Christ. In that time, we must stand fast and present the message of God’s transforming grace with the understanding that those who have not been saved, are sinners bound for hell, and experiencing the excruciating pain and suffering from sin.
Our Savior Jesus Christ, brought His love to His creation and endured the rejection that none of us could fully comprehend. Only a rejected parent could even come close. Jesus gave life, and His creation rejected it. He could have destroyed them all, yet He went to the cross to save us all.
We bring the Good News, that one can be saved from hell and the destructive power of sin. We tell of newness of life. Sin becomes comfortable, even in the pain. I remember how hard it was to let go of it.
Believers, do not grow weary in going and telling. Share the Gospel even when it is met with anger. Share the word of God willingly, pray for the lost and look for opportunities to share. Keep in mind that you may be met with anger, and some of us may even pay with our lives. We must endure. We who know the Lord have a home in heaven. Any loss, is gain.
“For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain. But if I live on in the flesh, this will mean fruit from my labor; yet what I shall choose I cannot tell. For I am hard-pressed between the two, having a desire to depart and be with Christ, which is far better.”
Philippians 1:21-23 NKJV
