“Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.”
I Timothy 2:1-4 NKJV
We are in perilous times. Many have made a shipwreck of the faith, having pushed aside the doctrines in the bible for those of man. They are priests bringing strange fire before the Lord. Sadly, many more have followed them and have been set adrift from the truth of the Gospel.
Others have neglected the word of God and faith in Jesus, for faith in politics and men, as they look for deliverance through their chosen candidate. I have been mourning daily. I have been praying fervently for my fellow believers to be about the Father’s business while there is still time. Like a red sky at morning time, I have seen the signs. A storm is coming. It may already be here.
Now is the time to call out to God, to pore over the Scriptures and seek Him like never before. Go out and tell someone about Jesus, share the Gospel like it is you last opportunity to do so. Make the Lord your priority as you enter the day. Cling to what you know, and all the while pray. Pray for everyone, pray for your leaders who are making life and death decisions with consequences that could affect the world.
God desires that all people be saved, that all come to repentance. The times are obviously headed for darkness as we see evil called good, and good called evil.
“But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away!”
II Timothy 3:1-5 NKJV
Over these last months, I have had so many moments when I have shook my head at witnessing something I had never seen before. In the beginning it was a periodic event, lately it has been every day. Just when I think it can’t get any more weird, it does.
I am seeing all of prophecy like broad table, set up for the baking of a cake. Little by little all the ingredients are being assembled: a little pestilence, some war, a whole bunch of russian ships off the coast of israel. Here in our own beloved country, the future is unsure. All is being dumped into a mixing bowl of trembling. Perilous times indeed.
Believers, seek the Lord today. Pray, pray, pray. Make sure you are saved. If you have any doubt, settle it now. There is no time for procrastination.
If you don’t know Christ, now is the time. Jesus is real!
Draw close my people! All that we have longed for may be coming soon.
