“See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is. And do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit, speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord, giving thanks always for all things to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, submitting to one another in the fear of God.”
Ephesians 5:15-21 NKJV
I used to have two sweet cats who shared my life with me. I used to love watching them move around the house, inspecting everything around them as they moved about. I noticed that they were very aware of changes in the environment. Move a table, pick something off the floor, and they were aware of the difference.
They were very circumspect, meaning, they moved with attention and caution. I gained much spiritual insight from them, as I learned that Christian life is one that must be approached with caution, attention to detail, and sobriety.
One must not stumble through this world as a Christian. The believer must look at the path through life as one filled with pitfalls and unforeseen dangers. One cannot make assumptions about the motives of others, yet balance that with grace.
We are living in a time when our world is one big pitfall. The evil one is making his play to disrupt the lives of the saved and the lost, to inhibit the spreading of the Gospel of Christ’s death, burial and resurrection.
The world is on a short clock, and eternity is in the balance. So many have foresaken the spiritual for the political, the social, and the carnal, hoping to find solutions and answers. The pressures of this present time has taken our eyes off the things of God and His power, and caused us to look lower to the faulty and the frail.
It is time to be intentional, to walk with the mind of Christ, and not with our flesh or our egos. We are in a supernatural battle that has no appointed end by worldly means, but will only be stopped when the Lord returns with His Saints. Until we are taken to be with Jesus, we must be about the Father’s business.
Believers, walk in the Spirit, walk circumspectly, as if dangers are everywere, because they are. Seek the Lord daily, pray believing, seek the guidance of God. Build on the strength of fellowship, seeking to encourage the discouraged, speaking to one another in psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, raisng each other up in prayer.
We, who call upon the Name of the Lord, are truly in this together. Hold each other accountable, when some are sliding into fleshly patterns. Now is not the time to stray.
It’s not long before the Day of the Lord. All the darkness, will be pushed away, by the light of Jesus. Know that it is coming, sooner than we expect, but right on time.
