“The LORD your God in your midst, The Mighty One, will save; He will rejoice over you with gladness, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing.””
Zephaniah 3:17 NKJVRejoice
I have to admit that I often feel pressure. The realities of this world bear down on me and I find myself focusing on all the events surrounding me and not on the reality that the God of the Universe loves me. When this happens I can find myself overwhelmed by all the “what ifs” that make me worry. the darkness fills my heart and my mind, and fear mixed with depression draws me toward an emotional abyss that I do not wish to fall into. I have learned to recognize these things happening and I seek my great God to pull me out of it.
I have the advantage of the Holy Spirit living in me, residing in this temple of flesh. The Lord my God is in my midst, strengthening me and giving me hope to face the day, the tomorrow an the next day. He gives me daily strength, or bread, to allow me to live for the here an now. I have learned not to think of the future and its unknowns. I am trusting that God knows what is to come and is sovereign. I will praise the Lord for He knows what I will face. He also knows what our nation will face.
So many people are dealing with tremendous amount of fear of the “what ifs”. Our nation and our world is in a period of upheavel. So many are allowing fear to drive them away from the confidence that they find in Jesus. many of the beloved have forgotten that they are beloved and are fearing the loss of the nation. They find themselves looking to men, rather than God.
Believers, it is time to celebrate your place in the beloved, to remeber that you are loved and rejoice over that fact. Know that regardless of what is to come, you have victory in Jesus. You have been saved by the Gospel and our focus needs to be in sharing that Good News with the world.
I believe that we are nearing the end times. We might even be there. Time is short. Rejoice in the Lord, God Almighty and proclaim boldly in His name. Dark times are ahead, that is for sure, and the uncertainty is real. Rejoice in the fact that your God is ahead of what is to come.
“Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice! Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand. Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”
