“When evildoers came upon me to devour my flesh, My adversaries and my enemies, they stumbled and fell. Though a host encamp against me, My heart will not fear; Though war arise against me, In spite of this I shall be confident. One thing I have asked from the LORD, that I shall seek: That I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, To behold the beauty of the LORD And to meditate in His temple. For in the day of trouble He will conceal me in His tabernacle; In the secret place of His tent He will hide me; He will lift me up on a rock.”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭27:2-5‬ ‭NASB‬‬

In Jesus, I stand firmly upon the Rock. I turn on the television and I hear all the dire things going on and, when I am not careful, I find a bit of fear creeping in. It so easy to give in and seek to hide from the circumstances that can threaten. Then I am reminded of the goodness of God and how He has carried me through high water, hot flames and so many seemingly insurmountable obstacles in my life.

He is a faithful God!

I know that many in the household of faith are struggling with all the headlines and all the temporal problems that are facing the world. Know this: our God is all powerful and is never caught by surprise. Cling to Him today!

The passage I read today reminded me of that truth. I know that I can be confident in all I may encounter. He is a great God. Jesus came down to be one of us, to lead us, and guide us and paid the ultimate price for our sins. Jesus died on the cross was buried, and rose again. In Him I am forgiven of my sin, and I have the power to turn from future sin. The condemnation that was mine from birth, was swept away by His blood. I am kept from hell, and destined for Heaven.

I have great confidence each passing day as I know that the worst possible outcome has become the best. God has turned death upside down, and the fear of death has fallen away.

I consider the speaker of the Psalm above. He had hope of being in the house of God forever. We who have called upon the name of the Lord after the cross have the advantage of being the temple. We dwell with God and He dwells in us. We are never without Him.

Believers, praise the Lord today. Seek Him. Open that great love letter we call the bible and read of the great love He has for you. Then go forth and honor the Lord without fear. He is gracious and full of mercy. In a time when there is so much uncertainty, God is certain. He will be there. He will give you the sense of security that you need to survive in these turbulent times.

Sunday is here! Off to the church to spend some time in the house of God with His people!
