Bright shining light off yonder

“Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth Does not become weary or tired. His understanding is inscrutable. He gives strength to the weary, And to him who lacks might He increases power. Though youths grow weary and tired, And vigorous young men stumble badly, Yet those who wait for the LORD Will gain new strength; They will mount up with wings like eagles, They will run and not get tired, They will walk and not become weary.”
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭40:28-31‬ ‭NASB‬‬

Bright shining light off yonder

I used to hate Monday mornings. I would awaken with a dread as I pondered what the day and the week would bring. Depending on the job, I was either worried or merely disturbed by the beginning of the work week. I tried as I might to look forward, to the long awaited weekend where I could lay aside the stress for a couple of days. I just needed to push forward.

These days, my Mondays are more like Saturdays as I no longer work. I still feel the dread though. Today it is the reality of the daily struggle against pain. I am also filled with dead as I look at the state of life on earth. It seems like most days there is no good news. Turn on the tv and all I see is death, strife and controversy. I find myself looking forward. I am not looking to the end of my work week, but toward the glory of eternal life with Christ.

All the things that grieve me in this present age will all pass away. There will be no more war, no more disease, no racial strife, no temptation, and no sin. There will be the Everlasting God, creator of heaven and earth. There will be no morning dread, only His glory.

In this time, I am empowered to continue, by the hope of things to come. I am occupied with the mission of leading as many people as I can to Jesus for salvation. I also seek to encourage other believers, in the journey. In Christ, I have gotten a glimpse of all the great things that are impossible today, but commonplace in the hereafter, as He has transformed my heart and those of other believers around me.

So many are striving to bring about a new world, a utopia, where there is hope, justice and equality. Sadly all is being attempted by people corrupted by sin. Instead of utopia, we will be faced with dystopia, a future offering little hope, no justice, and no equality. There will be only destruction.

Believers, do not be discouraged by all that is facing the world we currently call home. There is glory coming. A glory where there won’t be Monday morning dread, no bad news, no pain, and no weariness. All believers will mount up on wings of eagles, and walk and not be weary.

The great thing about this faith we have, is the strength is here for us now. The Lord lifts my spirit day by day and gives the power to live. While my body limps, my heart jumps, my spirit soars and I push through to the glory that awaits. Rejoice in the reality that God is with you, is for you, and is in you!

Call upon Him today! Know that He is faithful, present in all things, all situations. He is your light in the darkest moment, your constant calm waters in the most turbulent sea.

He is the bright light shining off yonder, that promise of destiny through the forgiveness of sins paid for by Jesus Christ on the cross. It is Monday, but an eternal Sunday is coming.

“And I heard a loud voice from the throne, saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is among men, and He will dwell among them, and they shall be His people, and God Himself will be among them, and He will wipe away every tear from their eyes; and there will no longer be any death; there will no longer be any mourning, or crying, or pain; the first things have passed away.””
‭‭Revelation‬ ‭21:3-4‬ ‭NASB‬‬
