“On the next day the large crowd who had come to the feast, when they heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem, took the branches of the palm trees and went out to meet Him, and began to shout, “Hosanna! B LESSED IS H E WHO COMES IN THE NAME OF THE LORD, even the King of Israel.” Jesus, finding a young donkey, sat on it; as it is written, “F EAR NOT, DAUGHTER OF Z ION; BEHOLD, YOUR K ING IS COMING, SEATED ON A DONKEY ’ S COLT.””
John 12:12-15 NASB
The king is coming
In the midst of the doom and gloom, the rise in cases of infection, and the change that has been foist upon my life, I must say that I am excited. Yes. Very excited. For years, I have studied prophecy with and eye toward trends in the greater society. Year by year, I have become more energized as I sense the urgency to reach as many people as I can with the Gospel. The King is coming!
It is easy to become discouraged by all that is seen in the world that we live in. Our culture has been turned upside down and a satanic insanity has gripped people, as simple logic and laws of nature have been swept aside with no sense of longterm consequences.
Looking through the eyes of flesh, life is filled with despair. Looking through eyes of faith, I am filled with joy and hope for what may come. The King is coming!
Today is Palm Sunday. It is like no other Palm Sunday I can remember. In this age of the quarantine, we are limited in fellowship. If not for technology, our great day would pass without any collective celebration. This day is shadowed in the darkness of pestilence, but our hearts are a lite with the brightness of our Savior Jesus. Yes! The King is coming!
All of this has put me under the stress of anticipation, as I await what I hope to be the eventually time when I meet my Savior, either collectively with my brothers and sisters in Christ, or on my own when I go to be with Him.
It is like looking for signs of Spring after a long winter. The tulips begin to break through, the grass begins to green, and there is an increasing warmth in the air. In this dark time, I am sensing the immanence of major change. The world as we know it is going to be transformed. In my limited vision, I have no idea how, but I place my trust in He who does know. I long for the possibility that change will include Christ’s return.
I have a renewed urgency to get out a share the Good News any way that I can. I feel like God is telling us that time is short. Yes, children, the King is coming!
Like the crowds that welcomed Jesus, it is time for us to cry out Hosanna! Those of us who have been saved by the blood of the Lamb must testify of His goodness. God has given all of us a story to tell, a story of redemption, God’s saving a soul from the edge of hell.
This is a golden hour for the Church. We have access to technology to give a hurting world a small sample of the Gospel to whet appetites for the real church experience if and when this is all over.
I love testimonies! I challenge everyone to take some time and write down your story of God’s faithfulness in your life. Let the world know what He has done, what He is doing and what He will do. Hearts are hungry now like no time before.
Today is the day to celebrate the coming of the King! Proclaim, tell your story, don’t let the “stones cry out.”
“But Jesus answered, “I tell you, if these become silent, the stones will cry out!””
Luke 19:40 NASB
People are dying. Just as we race to find a cure for this virus, we must tell the world of the cure for sin and spiritual death. IT IS JESUS!
Do not let this day be won by despair, but may it be a day of celebration! The King is coming!
