He is faithful!

He is faithful!!!!!

“Trust in the LORD with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.”
‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭3:5-6‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

We all have plans. We say to ourselves: I’ll do this or that and then I’ll … Sometimes there is an unforeseen bend in the road. An unexpected hurdle that suddenly pops up and takes all of our well laid plans captive. Sometimes the hurdle takes the shape of a tragedy or other event that shakes us to the core. More importantly it shakes our faith.
“ God!” “Why did you let this happen. I thought you loved me.” In the aftermath we find ourselves reeling, struggling to hang on. We hesitate to reach out to God and grieve over our losses.
We forget all the times that God has been there for us. We forget His faithfulness . We only think of the loss. Seldom do we look for meaning, we only see the storm. The winds and debris surrounding us obscures any plan that we may try to perceive. We continue to reel on our heels grasping at nothingness as we fall into what we think is a dark place where God has forgotten us.
Truth is we may never know the reasons that something bad has happened on this side of eternity. His ways are not our ways.
What we can do is trust in the Lord. To some reading this there might be smirk, or a “yeah, right!” For others who have found themselves at that point where is nothing but trust, it now is more real. I have learned that if I don’t trust Him, there is nothing to hang on to. I have been in that situation where there is nothing I could do to alleviate my own suffering, or change the situation that I find myself ensnared. In that moment I must trust. I make every effort to not lean on my own understanding. My understanding is fleshly and God is Spirit.
Prayer is one key to dealing with the unthinkable. We seek the knowledge of the Holy One. We also read His word. You are not the first to have a problem. The Bible is full of people who have had major tragedies and changes to plans and they all have sought the Lord. He has proven faithful time and time again. He is good!
I can tell you that if you are not in a storm right now, you will be. Rest assured that you have a Savior who loves you and will guide you. He knows what you are going through, and He cares. In the trouble run to Him and trust Him!!!
